Highlights from our special meet and greet with mom and son duo Janet and Jonathan Curci:

What is your favorite memory from a visit to Sherman Library and Gardens?

Janet Curci
“In the late 60s/early 70s I was a member of Junior League of Newport Harbor and we served lunches in the coffee garden which is now the café, and all of our proceeds we earned went to the charities we supported.”

Jonathan Curci:
“My favorite memory was Janet’s wedding. It was the perfect venue during the pandemic where everyone could dance the night away.”

How has Sherman Library & Gardens been a connection point for your family?

Janet Curci:
“Sherman Library & Gardens has showered our family with the most beautiful back drop for three weddings in our family.”

Jonathan Curci:
“We do have our family bench in the gardens which we love to see as it reminds us of all of the memories our family has created in Sherman Library & Gardens.”

Why did you choose to get involved with the Grow the Gardens Campaign?

Jonathan Curci:
“I got involved with the Grow the Gardens campaign because it is such a special place. I’d love to see it continue to grow and proser, becoming more of a household name.”

Janet Curci:
“Sherman Library & Gardens is such a unique spot in Newport Beach. It’s a venue where people can come to reflect, explore and immerse themselves in the gardens right in the heart of the city.”

Why do you believe others should get involved with the Grow the Gardens Campaign?

Jonathan Curci:
“I believe other people should get involved with the Grow the Gardens Campaign because Sherman Library & Gardens is such a cultural hub for our city. It’s a huge asset that provides entertainment, knowledge and experiences for many generations.”

Janet Curci:
“Sherman Library and Gardens provides a backdrop for many life celebrations. Growing the gardens will allow programs like Nights of 1000 lights alive and growing for many generations to come.”
