Call for Dancers:

‘Nights of 1000 Lights’ at the Sherman Library & Gardens

Production Description:

Sherman Library and Gardens (Newport Beach, CA) is in search of dancers to create and perform an improvised solo performance outdoors in the Moon Garden as part of our ‘Night of 1000 Lights’ holiday experience.

The site: Magical botanic gardens surrounded by lush foliage, a bubbling fountain and under a beautiful passion flower arbor. The garden will be lit by tiny twinkling lights. The movement will give the effect of appearing and disappearing amongst the plants.

COVID-19 Considerations: The event will be run with COVID requirements in place and attendees will be walking through the garden enjoying a series of spectacular vignettes and festive entertainments, in small groups and at a 6ft distance from performers.

Performance Dates (10 Nights) :

December: Thursday 10, Friday 11, Saturday 12, Sunday 13

December: Thursday 17, Friday 18, Saturday 19, Sunday 20, Monday 21, Tuesday 22

Performance Time:

The event duration is 6 – 9pm. Each evening will have two dancers on site.
Dancers will perform for 30min, and then rest for 30mins, for the three hours so that there is  always one performer in the garden.
