Community Building Site
Grow The Gardens plan will repurpose the existing restaurant into a full time community building to host educational classes, field classes, meetings, and community programming. The Garden-to-Table Restaurant will move near the Tea Garden and have an entrance on PCH. This major design feature is the genius behind the plan that unlocks the potential of our tiny campus footprint and wisely uses our space in better ways to leverage our programs. This move is necessary because Sherman Library & Gardens is bursting at the seams! Last year, we hosted nearly 100,000 visitors. With annual attendance increasing by over 50 percent in recent years, the outdated facilities and current campus configuration do not meet the growing needs for Sherman Library & Gardens’ vibrant cultural and education programming. The reconfigured and renovated facilities will increase capacity by 25 percent to meet the continuously growing demand for education programs and advance Sherman Library & Gardens as a world-class cultural hub. It’s an oasis accessible to the entire community. Please help us Grow The Gardens! When you plant a seed, you plant a legacy.
“Having a Community Building as a full-time dedicated space will be transformative for our organization and elevate our ability to deliver exceptional programming. With this permanent setting, we can significantly reduce the time staff and volunteers spend on setup and breakdown, allowing us to focus on what truly matters: engaging the public with meaningful educational and entertaining experiences. Even on the rare occasions when unexpected weather conditions arise, our programs can continue uninterrupted.”
