Hands-on Workshop: Growing, Using and Enjoying Luffa

May 10, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

You may be surprised and delighted to learn that Luffa (Loofah) sponges do not come from the sea but are a vegetable in the gourd and cucumber family and can easily be grown in your own home garden. Learn how to start your own seeds and how to care for your plants. You will plant seeds to take home, create a bar of luffa soap, and a jar of soothing luffa sugar scrub and decorate a gift tag or market tote using luffa gourd slices. You will also receive a signed copy of Janice Cox’s new Garden Workbook Beautiful Luffa (2020).

Our instructor, Janice Cox, is an expert on the topic of natural beauty and making your own cosmetic products with simple kitchen and garden ingredients. She is the author of three best-selling books on the topic and is currently the beauty editor for Herb Quarterly Magazine.

Fee: Members $45, Non-Members $50
