Fuchsia Flowers: The Art and Science

July 24 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Fuchsia Flowers: The Art and Science

Are you looking for a beautiful flower you don’t have to water?  Celebrate spring at Sherman and become inspired by our beautiful fuchsia collection.  Join Debra Mauzy-Melitz from the Coastal Bonsai Club as we blend art and science to make a fuchsia flower out of crepe paper.

Learn about the different parts of a flower as you design your own flower patterns using real flowers as a model.  Debra will demonstrate how to make petals, buds and stamens out of German crepe paper and leaves out of Italian heavy crepe paper.  These are different from the crepe paper you may have used in the past and allow the finished product to look very realistic.

No experience is needed except how to use a pair of scissors.  All supplies will be provided.
