Join Sherman for a rare experience touring the enchanting gardens of Mission San Juan Capistrano led by John Bishop, former Manager of Horticulture at Sherman Library & Gardens.  

Guided by Backhausdance professional dancers, participants will explore contemporary dance movements inspired by the hummingbirds and many other birds that fill Sherman Library & Gardens with vibrancy and life. You can become a bird in flight by soaring, gliding, hovering, and flocking through our fun and collaborative movement-making workshop.

Inspired by the colors, patterns, and graceful flight of these remarkable pollinators, participants will create movement phrases and explore the wonder of change and growth through movement. We will create and share a unique Dance of the Butterflies, celebrating imagination, self-expression, and the beauty of nature.
