Holiday Workshop - Discover Ginger | Sherman Library and Gardens

Discover more about seasonal favorite, ginger, with Janice Cox, author and natural beauty expert. Plant your own ginger plant, create a simple syrup that can be used in making delicious mocktails and cocktails, a gingerbread bath mix and a lemon ginger body scrub.  You will also enjoy a special ginger tea and sweet treats.

The tropical plant known as Ginger (Zingiber officinale), has been grown and used since ancient times.  Today this spice has never been more popular and used in culinary dishes, for health and wellness and as a useful garden plant. Each attendee will also receive a copy of The International Herb Association book “Ginger” to take home.  This book is full of history, recipes and growing tips.

Janice Cox is a garden writer and speaker.  She is also the author of several books on the topic of natural beauty.  She is the education chair for The Herb Society of America and a member of The International Herb Association.  Her latest book is “The Natural Beauty at Home Handbook” (Ogden publications 2023).  She lives in Southern Oregon.
