Members of the Coastal Bonsai Club will demonstrate how to make a bonsai slab planting using a slate tile. Recently two club members attended the state-wide bonsai convention and took workshops to make slab plantings using two different techniques. They will demonstrate these techniques throughout the day and share all the tips and tricks they learned. 

You will see how to convert a slate tile into a planting surface, how to anchor the planting to the tile for both shallow and deep plantings and how the build stable walls, using muck, that acts as a pot for the tree. Other members of the club will also be working on their bonsai trees.
