The leisurely one-mile route will take you through lush coastal sage scrub and riparian plant communities. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Mother’s Day weekend at our first annual Rose Show. \nA beautiful way to honor the special mom in your life\, surrounded by stunning blooms. Add on a wine experience while you’re here and enjoy ‘Roses and Rosé’ together! \nThis first annual event will include a display of roses grown by OCRS members and rose photographs\, plus the opportunity for the public to participate in an amateur rose show.  There also will be American Rose Society (ARS)-certified consulting rosarians on hand to answer your rose-related questions. \nThe Orange County Rose Society was founded in 1964.  The organization is dedicated to promoting the cultivation of roses\, educating the public about roses and their care\, and sponsoring rose competitions.  The organization is an affiliate of the ARS. \nThis will not be an American Rose Society (ARS) – sanctioned rose show\, so roses will not be judged\, with the exception of one rose which will be selected as “Best in Show” for the amateur entries. \nSaturday\, May 9 \n8:00 am – 10:00 a.m.Entries accepted for Amateur Rose ShowBring your best rose or roses to the side gate of the Library on Dahlia Avenue (look for the posted signs). \nPlease place your rose(s) in a disposable plastic container such as a plastic cup or water bottle; one flower per container. \nRoses and containers will not be returned.  If the information is available\, please bring the name of the rose and type (Hybrid Tea\, Floribunda\, etc).  Each person submitting an entry will receive one ticket for a drawing for either a Disneyland Rose bush or a dozen long-stemmed roses – just in time for Mother’s Day!  (One ticket per person only\, regardless of the number of roses entered.) \n10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.Rose Exhibition and Display of Amateur Rose Show SubmissionsView a variety of roses grown by OCRS members as well as the roses submitted for the Amateur Rose Show.
